Father and Son

It is not flesh and blood but the heart which makes us fathers and sons. Johann Schiller

Board No.2

Making board number two gave me even more appreciation for those who build our craft. It's not that hard build a board . . . I reckon to build a good one takes years of application, development of skill and talent. At the end of this project I'm thinking whatever they charge for a good board isn't enough!

Analogue Love

Maybe I'm a bit of a Luddite or just getting old. But the more I see digital the more I love analogue.

A Fun Day

An hours drive along the beach. Then through the sand hills to the bay. The waves were small that day but the vibe was big. The trip back . . . Speeding along the water's edge, windows down. All eight of us singing at the top of our lungs. Good memories.

Nice Guitar

A man who works with his hands is a laborer; A man who works with his hands and his brain is a craftsman; But, a man who works with his hands and his brain and his heart is an artist. Louis Nizer (1902-1994)

The Stoke

Ah, the euphoria of a good session.

Talented

Funny how we change. There was a time when I enjoyed this stuff. Now I just see a cog in the consumer machine. Senna was a great talent never the less.

Nato's a dude!

Sweetness Personified

My daughter's friends are lovely . . . So beautiful inside and out. So free and full of fun and life . . . a joy to behold.

Distant Treat

It's a four hour drive from home. It's like a furnace in summer and a freezer in winter. But always a treat.

Home-grown Music

Such a cool time . . . Having a couple of bands and a heap of friends over for the evening.

Special

Sharing a good time with a mate.

Rocket Man

Lov'n the old engineering in these rockets. No CAD here!

It works!

Pretty satisfying to see your own handiwork in action.

Yum!

They smell great! Thanks Em.

Old Love

More marriages might survive if the partners realized that sometimes the better comes after the worse. Doug Larson

Young Love

One man by himself is nothing. Two people who belong together make a world. Hans Margolius

Tough Timber

The 140 year old remains of Port Willunga jetty. This timber's seen a lot of tides.

Point Cartwright

She may not have the notoriety of Snapper or Burleigh. And her appearance may have been altered by many men. But Point Cartwright is look'n pretty sweet to me.

True Blue

Recently caught up with Uncle Ron, a retired truck driver, at a family wedding. He's such a good 'ol Aussie bloke.

Art Meets Science

I've gotta say, getting together with a few mates and shaping some boards was a great experience. Not only did give me an increased understanding of board design, but real appreciation for shapers and what they do. Have a go yourself!

Post no. 2

Post 2 . . . Why? Really just to get the layout sorted . . . I'm trying to keep it tidy — A bit like the guy driving this 'Stang on grass!

Montblog is a Go

OK. Not really sure why I'm starting a blog. Guess it'll help reinforce some of the good things around me by putting my pics and ponderings down on something. You never know, it might give someone else a bit of joy too.
